In 2008 Keith Burke released his first solo album called “No One Wants to Move”. It got very positive reviews from publications such as Hotpress, State, In Dublin and The Irish World (UK). His songs have had airplay on RTE, Today FM, U102 in the North, Phantom 105.2 and many other regional stations. Recently one of Keith’s songs, “A Kind of Friend”, was used on the closing credits of the TV show “Special One TV” on Setanta sports which was broadcast worldwide. Keith grew up in the Dublin coastal town of Skerries. At an early age his father gave him a small suitcase full of albums by the Beatles, Paul Simon and Ben E King. Dedicated to his art, Keith has held a varied range of jobs to support his love of making music. Computer Programmer, Tango Dance Instructor, Film Extra, English Teacher and (of course) bar room Guitar Player are all jobs that Keith has held allowing him share his music with his public. More recently, he did the voice of Rafael Benitez on today FM’s Gift Grub. Formerly guitarist and singer with the Ken Baxter band in Dublin, Keith achieved critical success with the band for their album, “The Dancer who Stole your Shoes”. In 2004 they received the coveted Hotpress “Pick of the fortnight”. The Ken Baxter had radio play on RTE 1, NewsTalk and considerable play on local Dublin radio stations. In 2004 they were invited to play concerts in Italy and later three dates in the 2005 Guinness Cork Jazz festival. “A mix between Tom Waits, Nick Drake and James Taylor” - Tony Fenton, Today FM In 2007 Keith set out to use the knowledge he gained during a Masters Degree in Music Technology to record his new album “No One Wants to Move”. He enlisted the help of engineer Bobby Boughton and invited a range of talented guest musicians to play on the tracks.
